A ESPECTROSCOPIA NO INFRAVERMELHO (IV): UM ESTUDO SOBRE A IDENTIFICAÇÃO DE GRUPOS FUNCIONAIS EM COMPOSTOS ORGÂNICOS SIMPLES

Abstract

O objetivo geral deste trabalho consiste em analisar como a espectroscopia no infravermelho contribui para a identificação de grupos funcionais em compostos orgânicos simples, considerando a relação entre os princípios físicos da radiação infravermelha, os modos vibracionais das moléculas, a formação do espectro IV, a organização das regiões espectrais e os critérios de interpretação utilizados na análise de funções orgânicas. Esse objetivo decorre da necessidade de compreender a técnica não como procedimento meramente classificatório, mas como processo analítico que exige articular energia, frequência, absorção, momento dipolar, estrutura molecular e raciocínio químico, de modo que a identificação de bandas características seja examinada dentro de uma lógica interpretativa capaz de reconhecer tanto a recorrência dos padrões espectrais quanto as variações produzidas por conjugação, associação intermolecular, hibridização, polaridade, matriz e sobreposição de sinais. Os objetivos específicos consistem em examinar os fundamentos físicos da radiação infravermelha e sua interação com moléculas orgânicas, discutindo como a absorção de energia decorre de transições vibracionais associadas à variação do momento dipolar; compreender o processo de formação do espectro IV e a organização de suas principais regiões analíticas, considerando a distinção entre regiões de grupos funcionais e região de impressão digital; analisar as bandas características associadas a hidrocarbonetos, álcoois, fenóis, éteres, compostos carbonilados, aminas, nitrilas e compostos halogenados, observando como cada classe funcional produz respostas vibracionais específicas; discutir as aplicações da espectroscopia IV na análise de compostos orgânicos simples, sem desconsiderar suas limitações diante de misturas, matrizes complexas, bandas sobrepostas, interferentes e demandas de confirmação por técnicas complementares; e avaliar, em perspectiva crítica, de que modo a leitura espectral pode ser conduzida como interpretação estrutural integrada, evitando reduções baseadas em correspondências automáticas entre picos e funções químicas.
