Konflikt Und Kultur

Abstract

Kulturen generieren Konflikte, Kulturen spiegeln interkulturelle Differenzen. ulturen sind konfliktuös, weil sie ein Pluriversum der Unterschiede von Werten, Traditionen, Lebensorientierungen, Rechtsauffassungen und vor allem Religionen bilden. Krieg und Terror sind nur eine, freilich besonders aktuelle Form der Austragung kultureller Gegensätze. Andere Formen sind die politischen, literarischen, auch medial ausgetragenen Kontroversen, die zeigen, dass Kulturen Identitäten stiften und dadurch stets von mehr oder weniger ausgeprägten Tendenzen zur Exklusivität gekennzeichnet sind. Kulturelle Differenz ist Quelle von Intoleranz, und diese Konsequenz provoziert insbesondere diejenigen Kulturen, die sich der Entstehung und traditionellen Pflege des Toleranzprinzips verpflichtet haben. Der vorliegende Band diskutiert einige Aspekte dieser Ambivalenz aus der Perspektive unterschiedlicher Problemstellungen und lässt dabei die Diversität wissenschaftlicher "Kulturen" im Dialog zum Zuge kommen.
