
Macrobiotus allani Murray, 1913 (Table 1) There is no information on the presence or absence of lamellae. The presence of the characters 3, 5, 7, 9 and 10 was reported in the original drawings of the bucco-pharyngeal apparatus (Pl. VII, fig. 7d, p. 141; Murray 1913). Murray (1913) reported that “The species belongs to a small group of which M. intermedius … is the type. The group contains besides that species, M. crassidens … and M. aculeatus …. These species are all very similar, and differ chiefly in their eggs”. It has to be remembered that M. intermedius is the type species of the genus Minibiotus and Macrobiotus aculeatus Murray, 1910 was transferred by Claxton (1998) to Minibiotus.
