This paper is based on the future of Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) in depth. In the recent era of Artificial Narrow Intelligence (ANI), AGI aims to develop human-like, flexible cognitive abilities capable of successfully solving a wide array of complex problems. This paper provides a complete review of the foundational concepts of AGI, an analysis of the various methodologies of AGI research and a brief discussion on the technical, ethical and societal challenges directly associated with its enhancement. It also presents a roadmap that indicates the value of ethical frameworks, strong safety protocols and collaborative interdisciplinary work to show the development of AGI in a responsible manner. This paper aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of the potential impacts of AGI and the framework needed to ensure its safe and beneficial integration into society.
