Abstract

A acerola (Malpighia glabra L.) é uma fruta típica das Américas e foi introduzida no Brasil na década de 1950. Hoje o país é um dos maiores produtores e exportadores da fruta e seus produtos industrializados, como o suco e polpa. É produzida em praticamente todo o território brasileiro, com destaque para região nordeste do país. Sua alta concentração de vitamina C é um grande atrativo econômico, sendo hoje utilizada para a produção de conservantes naturais de alimentos e produtos nutracêuticos. Essas características aumentam as possibilidades de aplicabilidade dos compostos bioativos da fruta e assim, seu valor comercial. O presente trabalho teve como objetivo estudos fitoquímicos para a identificação dos principais grupos de substâncias existentes nas drogas de folhas e frutos da espécie vegetal. Foram detectadas as seguintes classes de substâncias: taninos, alcaloides, flavonoides. O perfil cromatográfico de extratos simples das drogas de folhas indicou a presença dos compostos rutina e quercetina.
