Abstract

11. Amblyomma auricularium (Conil, 1878). ND: ND, Dasypus novemcinctus Linnaeus (Hoffmann 1962; Hoffmann & López-Campos 2000; Guzmán-Cornejo et al. 2011). ND: ND, ND (Chaires-Grijalva & Acuña-Soto 2024). Xicoténcatl: ND, B. taurus (CFPP 2022). Distribution: Veracruzan Province. Note: This species is difficult to identify morphologically and, in fact, different species have been identified under this name. These inconsistencies are due to some authors referring to this species as ornamented, while other authors mention that this tick does not have ornamentation on the shield (Guzmán-Cornejo et al. 2023). However, it is a difficult situation to solve, because there are no specimens to compare. Therefore, information on its geographical distribution is considered uncertain (Guglielmone et al. 2023).
