Abstract

El bosque tropical seco (BTS), es el más amenazado enel mundo (Dryflor, 2016) y representa alrededor del42% de los bosques de las regiones tropicales. A nivelmundial solo el 8% de estos bosques se encuentran bajoprotección. Este ecosistema agrupa aproximadamentedoce diferentes tipos de formaciones vegetales encentro y sur américa (Stan y Sánchez, 2019). En suestado original, se estima existe solo un 2 % del áreatotal (Janzen, 1988; Stan y Sánchez, 2019).
