ARGUMENTAIRE TAXONOMIQUE Neritos patara Druce, 1896 est décrit sur un nombre indéterminé de mâles de la rivière Essequibo au Guyana. Paranerita klagesi Rothschild, 1909 est décrit sur un couple de Fonte Boa, État d’Amazonas au Brésil. Rothschild (1909) compare sa nouvelle espèce avec Neritos metapyria Dognin, 1907 mais ne cite pas N. patara. Or un examen attentif des spécimens types montre qu’il s’agit de la même espèce. Nous proposons donc cette synonymie.
