Macacus (Magus) arctoides esau Matschie, 1912 Sitzungsberichte der Gesellschaft Naturforschender Freunde zu Berlin, p. 309 Current valid name: Macaca thibetana (Milne-Edwards, 1870) Holotype: ZMB 16178/16179, male, adult, skull, skin, parts of skeleton; “ Grenzgebiet zwischen den Provinzen Kuang-tung ” [Guangdong Province], Hu-nan [Hunan Province] and Kuang-si [Guangxi Province], “in den Bergländern” [mountains, about 2.000m altitude] near Lo-tschang-ho [?] approximately 113° E / 25° N, South China; collected by Mell, undated.
