
Familia Ceratopogonidae Presenta distribución cosmopolita, en la Argentina se conocen al menos 255 especies agrupadas en 31 géneros (Borkent, 2011; Spinelli, Marino, Gaddi, 2010). Sus formas inmaduras se desarrollan en una amplia gama de ambientes húmedos, semiacuáticos a hábitats totalmente acuáticos, incluyendo ríos y lagos, donde se las puede encontrar en los márgenes y entre los detritus y plantas acuáticas (Wagner et al., 2008). Para la provincia Spinelli et al. (2010) citaron a Macrurohelea setosa Wirth, en este trabajo registramos tres géneros más: Bezzia sp., Dasyhelea sp. y Forcipomyia sp., las especies no pudieron ser identificadas por tratarse de estados inmaduros.
