Fistulatus biconjugara Yang & Dai & You 2024, sp. nov

Abstract

Fistulatus biconjugara Yang & Dai sp. nov (Fig 28 A–K) Description. Body light brown, crown yellowish brown. Pronotum brown as a whole, densely covered with transverse striations, and irregular dark irrorations on the outside, and many black spots in the middle. Mesoscutellum brownish yellow with brown irregular plaques and obvious brown depression lines in the middle. Forewing veins yellowish brown. Head slightly narrower than pronotum with anterior margin rounded and protruding forward. Male genitalia. Pygofer side broad, with caudoventral margin acute to apex, with dense macrosetae, and with two pairs of ventral processes bent toward base. Style with base wide, middle part constricted and extended, terminal process sharp. Aedeagal shaft slender, tubular, strongly curved dorsad in lateral view, with pair of short distal processes, base of dorsal margin with enlargement; gonopore large, apical. Measurement. Length (including tegmen): ♂, 6.5 mm. Holotype. ♂, China, Guizhou Province, Fanjing mountain, 27.8961E, 108.7084N, 3 August 2014, Coll. Yunfei Wu (GUGC). Paratype: 1♂, same data as the holotype. Etymology. The species is named for the two pairs of convergent processes on the pygofer side. Remarks. According to the characteristics of the pygofer, this species is similar to F. quadrispinosus, but can be distinguished by the following three points: 1) pygofer with base wide and end narrow, and end of ventral process bent to base; 2) aedeagal shaft with only small distal processes; 3) base of aedeagal shaft enlarged. This species is also similar to F. luteolus, but can be differentiated from the latter by the aedeagus with a pair of small distal processes.
