A Review on Herb of Ocimum Sanctum

Abstract

Ocimum sanctum is a tiny, branching, aromatic herb that is also referred to as "Tulsi" or "Holy basil." It stands about 75 centimetres tall. This fragrant herb is grown all over India, usually in close proximity to Hindu homes and temples. This herb's roots, leaves, and seeds have all been used extensively. Tulsi is packed with minerals and bioactive ingredients. The main chemical components of Tulsi are caryophyllyne, oleanolic acid, linalol, and Tulsi has been found in human research to have a number of uses, including antibacterial and cardioprotective properties. Regarding the therapeutic safety of Tulsi. Plants have a wide range of pharmacological effects, including those that are anti-inflammatory, antiviral, antifungal, anti-diabetic, anti-cancer, anti-arthritic, anti-wound healing, antipyretic, memory-enhancing, anticoagulant, and antiulcer.
