Abstract

A paralisia facial periférica – (PFP) é uma condição neuromuscular debilitante que afeta milhares de brasileiros a cada ano, representando um desafio significativo tanto para os pacientes quanto para os profissionais de saúde. Este artigo visa descrever sobre a abordagem Fonoaudiológica na reabilitação da paralisia facial periférica de acordo com as melhores práticas da atualidade no tema. E como objetivos específicos visa: descrever a fisiopatologia da paralisia facial periférica, elucidar sobre as técnicas de terapia miofuncional e liberação miofascial na reabilitação de PFP, explicar o papel do fonoaudiólogo na reabilitação da PFP. A metodologia utilizada foi revisão integrativa de literatura onde foram revistos artigos científicos publicados nos últimos 10 anos, fazendo uso das seguintes bases de dados: PubMed, MEDLINE, SciELO e Lilacs. A expectativa é que esta pesquisa contribua para o avanço do conhecimento sobre a abordagem fonoaudiológica em pacientes com PFP, fornecendo diretrizes de prática clínica que possam nortear os profissionais da área. Como resultados esperados, a partir dos resultados e análise dos dados, possa-se contribuir para a melhoria da qualidade da assistência prestada aos pacientes com essa condição.
