Bothrops pirajai Amaral, 1923 Type locality. Ilhéus, Bahia, Brazil. Distribution. Endemic to Brazil (Plt. 75A). Recorded in the Atlantic Forest (Plt. 75B) at low to intermediate elevations (Plt. 75B). Previous maps and taxonomy in Campbell and Lamar (2004). Observed in the field in primary forest (Freitas, 2014).
