Bothrops insularis (Amaral, 1922) Type locality. Queimada Grande Island, Itanhaém, state of São Paulo, Brazil. Distribution. Endemic to Brazil (Plt. 61A). Recorded only at Queimada Grande Island, Itanhaém, state of São Paulo (Plt. 61A), at low elevations (Plt. 61B). Previous maps and taxonomy in Campbell and Lamar (2004). Observed in the field in secondary forest (Martins et al., 2008a).
