Condiciones de contorno en las determinaciones del punto de marchitamiento permanente con water activity meters

Abstract

La evaluacion de contenido de agua en el suelo en la zona no saturada a traves de la determinacion de los limites hidricos, es posible con una metodologia de reciente desarrollo, catalogada dentro de la amplia gama de psicrometros existentes, los water activity meters. Su propio principio de funcionamiento, fundamentado en la Ecuacion de Kelvin, establece una dependencia de dos factores, la temperatura y la humedad relativa. En esta investigacion se cuantifica el efecto de ambos en la determinacion del punto de marchitamiento permanente en suelos de Galicia. Son analizados 26 puntos de muestreo con un water activity meter modelo WP4. En 16 muestras se cuantifica un aumento de la temperatura, segun porcentaje de humectacion, del 0,92% (5%), 1,28% (10%), 1,79% (15%) y 1,76% (20%), con un valor medio del 1,44%. En las 10 muestras restantes se produce una disminucion en la humedad relativa de la muestras en todo el protocolo, respecto a los valores iniciales, del 42,84% (5%), 47,83% (10%), 50,65% (15%) y 53,42% (20%), siendo el valor medio perdido en el proceso del 48,68%. Extrapolado el valor del punto de marchitamiento permanente, se relaciona con la amplitud de la variacion de temperatura de lectura y la humedad relativa para cada muestra. La variacion media producida es de 0,315 cm3cm-3 oC-1 y de 0,003 cm3cm-3 en el punto de marchitamiento por cada variacion unitaria de la humedad relativa. Destacar la estrecha relacion existente entre la temperatura-humedad relativa y el tiempo requerido, recomendandose un control exhaustivo de las condiciones de contorno, cuestionandose el empleo de estos equipos en condiciones de campo.
