Abstract

Sistem Informasi Geografis Kelautan (SIG) merupakan sistem terintegrasi yang didesain untuk menghasilkan, mengambil, menyimpan, menganalisis, mengatur, dan memvisualisasi seluruh jenis data spasial atau geospasial dan informasi. SIG saat ini dimanfaatkan secara luas dalam berbagai sektor dan tersedia secara personal pada komputer dan smartphone. Buku ajar Sistem Informasi Geografis Kelautan ini menyajikan secara rinci tentang dasar-dasar SIG yaitu definisi, komponen, dan unsur esensial. Buku ini juga mengulas penggunaan software dan hardware SIG seperti Pembuatan Peta Digital, Pengenalan Generic Mapping Tools (GMT), dan Bahasa Pemograman Shell atau Bash. Penyajian materi dalam buku ini didukung dengan gambar-gambar informatif, Bahasa pemograman yang sangat rinci, dan situs-situs penting untuk menunjang kegiatan belajar mahasiswa.
