Abstract

Serbest radikaller ile mücadelede en önemli savaşçılardan olan antioksidan polifenolik doğalkarışımını içeren aronya, günümüzde kansere karşı kullanımı ile popülerleşmiştir. Aronya bitkisi zenginbiyoaktif bileşikleri sayesinde metabolik hastalıkların önlenmesinde en önemli bitkilerdendir. Uçucuyağlardan benzaldehit içeriği oldukça yüksektir. Kalp ve damar hastalıkları, göz iltihabı, idrar yolu iltihabı,diyabet ve çeşitli viral hastalıklara karşı olumlu etkileri bulunmaktadır. Taze olarak tüketiminin yanı sırakuru meyve, meyve suyu, reçel, şerbet, sos, kek ve dondurma yapımında takviye gıda olarakdeğerlendirilmektedir. Düşük üretim maliyeti, adaptasyon kabiliyeti, hastalık ve zararlılara dayanıklılığı vemakinalı hasada uygunluğu gibi birçok olumlu etken, aronya yetiştiriciliğini üreticiler için cazip halegetirmektedir. Tüm bu sebeplerle önemi daha çok anlaşılması gereken bu bitkinin ülkemizde tanınırlığınıartırmayı amaçlayan bu derlemede, aronya bitkisinin botanik özellikleri ve yayılımı, kullanım alanları,yetiştiriciliğinin önemi ve avantajları ile insan sağlığı açısından değerlendirilmesi yer almaktadır.Anahtar Kelimeler: Aronya, Aronia melanocarpa, antioksidan
