Efecto terapéutico del huerto familiar durante la pandemia de covid-19

Abstract

El objetivo de la investigación es analizar el efecto terapéutico del huerto familiar durante la pandemia del covid-19 en Jojutla, Morelos. La función principal de este agroecosistema es la producción de alimentos mediante prácticas sustentadas en el conocimiento ecológico tradicional. El estudio compara la experiencia de dos grupos bajo un enfoque mixto: 30 familias con huerto familiar y 30 sin él. Las técnicas etnográficas aplicadas son: observación participante, cuestionarios, entrevistas y recorridos sistemáticos. Los resultados revelan que ambas muestras sufrieron trastornos mentales por el contexto asociado al coronavirus. El grupo sin agroecosistema mantuvo la problemática, al no contar con un lugar de desahogo. Las mujeres con huerto familiar mejoraron su situación; señalan que proporciona tranquilidad, relajación y felicidad por las formas, colores y aromas de las plantas. Concluimos que la biodiversidad en este espacio propicia un entorno de armonía, alegría y paz, lo cual genera efectos terapéuticos por los estímulos sensoriales que provee y la actividad física que requiere su mantenimiento.
