Ecología política del paisaje urbano

Abstract

La presente obra analiza el paisaje urbano desde la ecología política, entendido como una construcción sociohistórica atravesada por relaciones de poder, procesos de acumulación capitalista y profundas desigualdades socioambientales. Por ello, toma un enfoque interdisciplinario que conecta la geografía crítica, la teoría urbana, la sociología y los estudios ambientales. Paralelamente, se examina cómo el Estado, el mercado y diversos actores sociales intervienen en la producción desigual del espacio urbano. El texto aborda fenómenos como la mercantilización del suelo, la gentrificación, la segregación socioespacial y la distribución asimétrica de riesgos y beneficios ambientales, especialmente en su vinculación con la crisis climática y la vulnerabilidad urbana. De igual modo, se incorporan los aportes de la ecología política latinoamericana y las perspectivas decoloniales que permiten cuestionar los modelos hegemónicos de desarrollo y urbanización impuestos en el Sur Global. También se incluye la dimensión simbólica y cultural del paisaje urbano con relación al papel de los imaginarios, la memoria colectiva y las prácticas cotidianas en la apropiación del espacio. Finalmente, se reflexiona sobre el derecho a la ciudad y las formas de resistencia y acción colectiva que buscan construir alternativas socioecológicas orientadas a la justicia social, la equidad territorial y la sustentabilidad urbana.
