Abstract

El objetivo de la obra es analizar el estado actual de los sistemas acuáticos del Estado de México y su relación con las especies de organismos bioindicadores de contaminación y perturbación que aún existen en dichas áreas, con la intención de aplicar y mejorar estrategias de protección y manejo sustentable que permitan garantizar su calidad y diversidad de especies. Este análisis se hace mediante la presentación de datos y resultados de investigaciones y evaluaciones ambientales que se han realizado por la comunidad científica de la entidad y por dependencias oficiales a nivel estatal y federal. Esta obra invita a reflexionar sobre nuestra relación con el agua y la vida que habita en ella. Entender a los bioindicadores es también aprender a escuchar al ambiente, reconocer sus señales y actuar antes de que el daño sea irreversible.
