De la ciencia a la acción para un futuro sostenible

Abstract

El planeta habla. Lo hace a través del silencio de los ríos que desaparecen, del verde que va diluyéndose y del gris que va en aumento, del suelo que se agrieta y de los mares con menos vida. En una era definida por la huella humana sobre el planeta, la ciencia y la sustentabilidad se entrelazan para ofrecer respuestas urgentes a la crisis ambiental del Antropoceno. Este libro reúne una serie de investigaciones realizadas por científicos y académicos de instituciones de gran renombre que, desde distintas disciplinas y enfoques, revelan casos puntuales de degradación ecológica y sus soluciones. Desde la crisis hídrica en México y el colapso oculto de sus acuíferos, hasta la transformación territorial provocada por el cambio climático en regiones rurales, cada capítulo es un llamado a repensar nuestra relación con el agua, la naturaleza y los residuos. Se abordan problemáticas actuales como la contaminación por disruptores endocrinos, la valorización de residuos sólidos y peligrosos, y soluciones innovadoras como el sargazo como fuente de energía limpia. A través de un enfoque interdisciplinario, crítico y científico, esta obra traza un puente entre la ingeniería ambiental, las ciencias sociales y las políticas públicas. El libro ofrece una visión integral de los retos socioambientales actuales, impulsando el diálogo entre conocimiento científico y sociedad.
