Camas altas para el cultivo de hortalizas en los huertos familiares

Abstract

Actualmente, los consumidores han incrementado su interés por mejorar su salud a través de una dieta con alimentos sanos e inocuos; lo que ha motivado a muchos a producir sus propios alimentos. Este capítulo tiene por objetivo proporcionar información útil sobre la construcción de camas altas para el cultivo de hortalizas; nuestra propuesta es un apoyo práctico y de fácil acceso para la producción manual de hortalizas, plantas medicinales y aromáticas en superficies pequeñas, los cuales representan una potencial herramienta de promoción de alimentos saludables y de entornos sostenibles. La agricultura en huertos familiares es una actividad que aporta nuevos significados a la práctica agrícola; más allá del aspecto productivo, dota a la agricultura de una función social y ambiental al tiempo que nos ofrece un espacio de relajación y esparcimiento en donde podemos desarrollar toda nuestra creatividad.
