Abstract

Este capítulo pretende dar a conocer el proceso de conformación de la Zona Metropolitana Puebla-Tlaxcala (ZMPT), así como también, descubrir las circunstancias en las que viven las personas de los otrora pueblos originarios, ahora puestos en la mancha urbana metropolitana, para saber si han cambiado y en qué sentido. El método de estudio parte de las centralidades metropolitanas, utilizando como base la categoría de movilidad de las personas con los indicadores de trabajo y educación principalmente; sin embargo, se toma en consideración lo tradicional, cultural y turístico. Entonces nos preguntamos: ¿El modelo territorial tradicional monocentrista del sistema de ciudades cambia con las conurbaciones? ¿Qué papel tienen los pueblos originarios conurbados? ¿Los territorios se han convertido en ciudad central y satélites? Las respuestas ayudarán a entender estos territorios jurídicos sin “pies ni cabeza”, porque tienen muchas cabezas legales, poca integración entre ellos y una disputa por el control y el poder.
