
De acuerdo con (Moliner, 1998), etimológicamente, la palabra semillero (de semilla) significa un sitio donde se siembran y crían plantas para trasplantarlas luego. Semilla (del latín arcaico seminia, seminium) se relaciona con el latín semen-inis. “Formación que existe en el interior del fruto de la mayoría de las plantas que, puesta en condiciones adecuadas, es capaz de germinar y producir otras plantas de la misma especie”.
