The coexistence of diabetes mellitus (DM) and tuberculosis (TB) represents asignificant global burden. DM recognized as a major risk factor for TB. Thisstudy comprehensively reviews the immunological aspects of TB/DM comorbidity,reflecting the impact of DM on TB pathogenesis and immune responses. It revealsthat high blood glucose levels in TB patients contribute to a reduction in innateimmune cells, compromised phagocytic function, and delayed antigenpresentation. These factors ultimately impair the clearance of Mycobacteriumtuberculosis (MTB) and delay adaptive immune responses.
