Applications of minimally invasive surgical techniques (MIS) are increasing in childhood period. Robotic systems (RS), which are advanced application form of MIS, are new technologies. High expenditures, unsuitable tools and unclear indications for children are the limitations for use of these technologies. Use of RS in paediatric surgery becomes an issue because of great advantages about magnification and low rate of postoperative complications in comparison with conventional endoscopic tools. Therefore scientific studies for use of RS to children are increasing in number. In this study we introduce general information about robotic systems and use of these new technologies in children. © 2019 Editorial Delirio. All rights reserved.
