Abstract

Tendo em vista o papel da polidez nas interações sociais, entre elas a comunicação, neste trabalho pretende-se discutir a estreita relação entre polidez e linguagem, destacando os principais conceitos que conduzem, atualmente, os estudos da polidez na lingüística. Assim, consideraremos as principais correntes que se ocupam desse fenômeno, levantando os pontos mais relevantes de cada uma no estudo da relação entre polidez e linguagem.
