Obtenção e caracterização do extrato fluido de Genipa americana Linnaeus

Abstract

Introdução: O jenipapo, Genipa americana Linnaeus, possui importantes ações farmacológicas como a advinda dos fitoesterois presentes no fruto, cuja capacidade é abrandar os níveis de colesterol, bem como o iridoide genipina, o qual possui ação antioxidante, anti-inflamatória e antiangiogênica. O objetivo da pesquisa foi obter o extrato fluido do jenipapo e posterior caracterização físico-química, de forma a contribuir com a identificação do fruto proveniente do cerrado brasileiro. Metodologia: Para tanto, a metodologia abrangeu a obtenção do extrato hidroalcoólico por percolação e concentração deste em rotaevaporador, seguida das determinações de pH, teor de sólidos, densidade, Cromatografia em Camada Delgada (CCD), prospecção fitoquímica e doseamento de fenóis. Resultados e Discussão: Os resultados foram pH de 4,0, teor de sólidos de 0,48g/100g, densidade do extrato de 0,9835 g/mL, e fenóis totais de 5,33%. O perfil cromatográfico por CDD indicou a presença de flavonoides e iridoides. A prospecção fitoquímica apontou a presença de alcaloides, taninos, flavonoides e triterpenoides, saponinas e cumarinas, sendo todos estes metabólitos já descritos na literatura para a espécie estudada. Conclusão: Conclui-se que a extração por percolação foi um método eficiente, logo, os resultados encontrados permitiram caracterizar o extrato fluido obtido a partir dos frutos de Genipa americana L.
