Thomas Hobbes e um dos fundadores da moderna concepcao de poder politico.A instituicao do Estado tem no pensador ingles,uma de suas vertentes racionais.O trabalho examina as raizes jusnaturalistas do teorico politico ingles e assume a posicao de que o legado hobbesiano nao e dialetizavel.
