Megaproyecto Tren Maya: racismo, militarización y estado de excepción en contra de los pueblos indígenas

Abstract

El megaproyecto Tren Maya, obra insignia de la administración federal guiada por Andrés Manuel López Obrador, muestra distintas aristas que lo vuelven emblemático del entramado de ideología, práctica de gobierno y políticas públicas que el sector político dominante ha llamado Cuarta Transformación. En este artículo analizaré brevemente aquellos aspectos del megaproyecto que son muestra de dicho entramado y que impactan directamente en los derechos de los pueblos indígenas y, en términos más amplios, en los derechos humanos de quienes habitan los territorios afectados por el megaproyecto. Haré referencia al uso instrumental de la diversidad cultural y de elementos representativos de las culturas indígenas; la ideología militarista que incorpora dicha diversidad cultural y la militarización de la misma obra; la modificación a modo de la institucionalidad vigente que crea un velado estado de excepción para permitir la implementación del megaproyecto.
