Misoginia youtuber: conseguir audiencia con humor sexista

Abstract

En el contexto de una investigación más amplia acerca de la socialización audiovisual entre adolescentes en la era digital (Autora, 2019), vimos cómo el fenómeno youtuber se presenta como la principal innovación en el campo de la producción y el consumo de contenidos audiovisuales entre adolescentes actuales, generación que ha sido descrita como “juventud prosumidora”. Dicha juventud ha dado lugar al fenómeno youtuber, el cual presenta importantes diferencias de género, ya sea en relación a la popularidad y seguimiento alcanzados, o bien en cuanto a las diferencias de las temáticas tratadas en función del sexo del creador o creadora de los contenidos. En este artículo nos centramos en el humor sexista o directamente misógino empleado por tres youtubers masculinos muy populares del mundo hispanófono: elRubius, Germán Garmendia y Wismichu. Así, analizamos los imaginarios de género femenino y masculino que presentan en sus contenidos desde el inicio, el tratamiento que han dado a las mujeres, ya sean personajes femeninos de videojuegos o a sus propios seguidores, y su reacción a las críticas por el machismo inherente a sus vídeos. De este modo, podemos observar que el humor sexista constituye un elemento muy útil para alcanzar el éxito dentro del fenómeno youtuber, muy influyente entre adolescentes y jóvenes de hoy en día.
