Mujeres migrantes tejiendo democracia y sororidad desde el asociacionismo. Una aproximación cualitativa e interseccional

Abstract

En las últimas décadas, los estudios realizados desde la perspectiva feminista han cuestionado el uso monolítico de la categoría “mujer” y han mostrado un interés creciente hacia la consideración de otro tipo de desigualdades como la etnia, la nacionalidad o el estrato social. Desde este enfoque –feminista e interseccional–, este estudio centra su atención en las asociaciones de mujeres migrantes de Bizkaia, que constituyen una rica fuente de conocimiento sobre este colectivo. La metodología cualitativa basada en grupos de discusión nos ha permitido acercarnos a la interacción entre desigualdades múltiples que afectan a las vidas de mujeres migrantes y que las sitúa en posiciones particularmente vulnerables. Pero, sobre todo, nos ha permitido reconocer y estudiar estas estructuras como espacios resilientes, capaces de generar estrategias de afrontamiento, sororidad y participación democrática. Las narrativas de estas mujeres migrantes hacen visibles los engranajes de múltiples sistemas de dominación, a la vez que desvelan el importante papel que desempeñan ellas y sus asociaciones en la promoción del bienestar, el empoderamiento y la lucha contra las desigualdades múltiples.
