
Este trabajo propone una aproximación a las imágenes argentinas de los Estados Unidos a fines del siglo XIX. Se analiza la crónica del viaje que Juan B. Justo realizó a los Estados Unidos a mediados de 1895, y que fue publicada por entregas en el flamante periódico La vanguardia. Se argumenta que las ideas de Justo pertenecen a un contexto más amplio de debates sobre Estados Unidos y se propone su puesta en diálogo con un ensayo de Ernesto Quesada, con el que comparte registro y preocupaciones, a la vez que se destacan los aspectos originales de su enfoque.
