La gestión de fuentes como criterio de calidad en la información sobre el cambio climático. Nuevos roles de activistas y expertos en la cobertura de las cumbres del clima pospandémicas (2021-2023)

Abstract

Este trabajo analiza la gestión de fuentes como criterio de calidad en la información del cambio climático, tomando como caso de estudio la cobertura periodística de las cumbres del clima realizadas durante el periodo pospandémico: Glasgow (2021), Sharm el Sheij (2022) y Dubái (2023). Para ello, se revisan tres variables –número, identificación y la tipología– que conectan con indicadores como la credibilidad, el pluralismo o la influencia. La muestra está formada por 671 piezas informativas publicadas en seis medios españoles de diferente modelo profesional y amplio enfoque editorial. Los resultados dibujan un panorama mediático basado, por un lado, en la abundancia y correcta identificación de fuentes; y por otro, en la variedad y participación social. Se observa un creciente protagonismo de los activistas, así como un rol destacado de las fuentes científicas y expertas. Los resultados apuntan un aumento significativo de la especialización y calidad en la cobertura periodística del cambio climático.
