Esbozamos aquí primero una nueva interpretación de las ideas estéticas de Kant que facilita su enlace con diversas tesis de la teoría narrativa. Sometemos luego a examen crítico algunos puntos centrales de la sutil posición antikantiana que sobre la relación entre ética y literatura ha sido defendida por Martha Nussbaum. Finalmente proponemos una crítica reconstrucción de las intuiciones básicas de Kant que confiere una especial función moral a la ficción literaria. Tomamos dos novelas de Javier Marías, Los enamoramientos y Corazón tan blanco, como fuente de ejemplos ilustrativos.
