Novedades y precisiones sobre la distribución de las especies del género "Arbutus" L. ("Ericaceae") en Gran Canaria (Islas Canarias)

Abstract

En Gran Canaria se han citado hasta el momento dos especies del género Arbutus, la endémica Arbutus canariensis y la introducida Arbutus unedo. Hasta el momento, ha existido cierta confusión entre ambos taxones en lo referente a su distribución en esta isla. En este trabajo se presenta tanto la corología de ambas especies en Gran Canaria, como la primera cita del híbrido Arbutus ×androsterilis en esta isla. Esta información es muy importante para la gestión tanto del madroño canario, una especie rara en Gran Canaria, como la del madroño mediterráneo, considerado especie exótica invasora, incluido en el catálogo español de especies exóticas invasoras para Canarias.
