Gestión educativa y competencias: concepciones del docente universitario

Abstract

El objetivo del estudio fue describir las concepciones de los docentes universitarios acerca de la formación profesional por competencias en la educación superior. El estudio fue una investigación cualitativa, concretamente un estudio de caso de dos universidades peruanas. Se aplicaron entrevistas semiestructuradas vía online. Los informantes clave fueron seis docentes de la escuela de educación de universidades peruanas. Durante el proceso de transcripción, reducción y disposición de la información se utilizó el software Atlas.ti. V9. Los resultados reflejaron cuatro categorías emergentes: competencias como conjunto de saberes en desarrollo permanente, competencias como enfoque diferente a objetivos, competencias como formación integral del estudiante y competencias como formación para el mundo laboral. Los hallazgos muestran que los docentes conocen el enfoque por competencias. Sin embargo, dejaron de adoptar el enfoque tradicional debido a que hay que privilegiar el aprendizaje en el estudiante. Se concluye que en el contexto universitario se continúe aplicando el enfoque por competencias que apuesta por una formación integral, donde se evidencia el desempeño, y faculta al estudiante a la inserción del entorno productivo, cultural y social cada vez más exigente y globalizado.
