Los trastornos del lenguaje y su relación con otros trastornos del neurodesarrollo

Abstract

Introducción y Objetivos: Los trastornos del lenguaje son dificultades persistentes en la adquisición y uso del lenguaje, los cuales presentan como comorbilidad desórdenes del neurodesarrollo. El objetivo del estudio es demostrar la relación entre los trastornos del lenguaje como signo de alarma de otros tipos de alteraciones del neurodesarrollo en la población pediátrica. Métodos: Se realizó un estudio observacional, descriptivo en Centro de Enfermedades Neurológicas y Nutricionales de Niños y Adolescentes – CENNA, en la ciudad de Quito-Ecuador, en el período enero - mayo 2024, donde se seleccionó pacientes con diagnóstico de trastornos del lenguaje y la coexistencia de comorbilidades. Resultados: Se identificaron 170 pacientes con trastornos de lenguaje. Predominó en sexo masculino (78.2%) y el rango etario de 5-9 años (52.9%). Las principales comorbilidades identificadas fueron trastorno del espectro autista (TEA) en un 34.1%, trastorno por déficit de atención e hiperactividad (TDAH) en un 31.8%, discapacidad Intelectual (DI) en un 17.1%, trastornos de lenguaje aislados en un el 5.23% y trastornos simultáneos en un 24.11% de pacientes. Conclusiones: Los pacientes con trastornos del lenguaje se relacionaron con múltiples trastornos del neurodesarrollo (TND), así como otros trastornos neurológicos. La identificación temprana de los trastornos del lenguaje permite identificar otros trastornos subyacentes e iniciar un manejo oportuno para prevenir complicaciones en estos pacientes.
