El 29 de octubre de 2024, una Depresión Aislada en Niveles Altos (DANA) desencadenó una de las mayores catástrofes naturales registradas en la provincia de Valencia. Este fenómeno meteorológico extremo provocó lluvias torrenciales, barrancadas y riadas que afectaron gravemente a 71 municipios, causando graves daños materiales y humanos. El Archivo Intermedio de la Generalitat (AIG), situado en una de las zonas más afectadas, sufrió un gran impacto. Este artículo analiza la respuesta inmediata del personal de archivos ante la emergencia, la gestión de los daños documentales, las estrategias de recuperación y las lecciones aprendidas para fortalecer la resiliencia archivística frente a eventos climáticos extremos y para tratar de incidir en las futuras políticas en la gestión de archivos. On October 29, 2024, a High-Altitude Isolated Depression triggered one of the most severe natural disasters ever recorded in the province of Valencia. This extreme meteorological phenomenon brought torrential rains, flash floods, and river overflows, severely impacting 71 municipalities and causing extensive material and human damage. The Archivo Intermedio de la Generalitat, located in one of the most affected areas, was heavily impacted. This article analyzes the immediate response of archival staff to the emergency, the management of documentary damage, the recovery strategies implemented, and the lessons learned to strengthen archival resilience in the face of extreme weather events and to influence future policies in archival management.
