Competencia digital del docente de nivel secundaria

Abstract

En la actualidad, la Competencia Digital Docente (CDD) resulta una necesidad imperante para atender a los requerimientos de las instituciones educativas del siglo XXI, caracterizadas por la integración de las nuevas tecnologías en el proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje. En este artículo se presenta una investigación que tuvo como objetivo identificar el nivel de competencia digital de los profesores de una secundaria pública del Estado de Yucatán, México. Para alcanzarlo, se diseñó un cuestionario conformado por 65 reactivos que integran las dimensiones de la CDD: técnica, informacional, comunicativa, ciudadanía digital, pedagógica y actitud ante las TIC. Las primeras tres dimensiones fueron evaluadas mediante una Prueba de Ejecución Máxima (P.E.M.); por su parte, las dimensiones restantes se valoraron mediante una Prueba de Ejecución Típica (P.E.T.) que incluyó una escala tipo Likert con cinco rangos de frecuencia. Los resultados mostraron un bajo nivel de competencia digital en las dimensiones técnica, informacional y comunicativa. Asimismo, los profesores evidenciaron que realizan con alta frecuencia conductas propias de la dimensión ciudadanía digital y con frecuencia media actividades que reflejan una actitud favorable hacia las TIC. Finalmente, se encontró un bajo nivel de frecuencia de acciones relacionadas con la integración de las tecnologías en su quehacer pedagógico. A partir de los resultados obtenidos, se recomienda diseñar e implementar procesos de formación y capacitación permanente que favorezcan la adquisición de competencias digitales para los profesionales de la educación.
