Abstract

Ehrlichia cinsi, E. (eski adıyla Cowdria) ruminantium, E. canis, E. chaffeensis, E. ewingii ve E. muris'i içerir. Ehrlichia, kenelerin orta bağırsak veya tükürük bezi hücrelerindeki sitoplazmik vakuollerde veya omurgalı konağın monosit/makrofajlarında, (E. chaffeensis, E. muris ve E. canis), nötrofillerinde, (E. ewingii) veya endotellerinde (E. ruminantium) yaşayabilen zorunlu hücre içi bakterilerdir. Anaplasma cinsi, A. marginale, A. ovis, A. bovis, A. phagocytophilum ve A. platys'i içerir. 2 Anaplasma’lar da, kenelerin hücrelerinin sitoplazmik vakuollerinde veya omurgalı konağın eritrositlerinde (A. marginale), nötrofillerinde (A. phagocytophilum), trombositlerinde (A. platys) veya monositler/makrofajlarında (A. bovis) yaşayabilen zorunlu hücre içi bakterilerdir. İnsan monositik erlihyozisi, enfekte bir kenenin ısırmasından 1-2 hafta sonra başlar. Klinik olarak sıklıkla ateş, baş ağrısı, miyalji, bulantı, artralji ve halsizlik görülebilir. İnsan granülositik anaplazmozu, enfekte bir kene tarafından ısırıldıktan sonra 7-10 gündür. Klinik belirti ve semptomlar insan monositik erlihyozisine benzer, ancak hastalık daha az şiddetlidir ve ölüm oranı %1'den azdır. Query veya Q ateşinin etiyolojik ajanı olan Coxiella. burnetii, zorunlu hücre içi bir prokaryottur ve Legionella türleri ile genetik olarak akrabadır. C. burnetii pleomorfik kokobasil bir bakteridir. C. burnetii enfeksiyonlarının çoğu antibiyotik tedavisine gerek kalmadan düzelir, ancak doksisiklin verilmesi akut enfeksiyonda ateşin süresini azaltır
