Abstract

Brucella türleri, insan ve hayvan hücrelerine yerleşim göstererek fagositler içine yerleşebilen fakültatif hücre içi bir bakterilerdir. İnsanlarda hastalığa neden olan en yaygın Brucella türleri; B. melitensis, B. abortus, B. suis ve B. canis olarak bilinmektedir. Bruselloz hastalığı bir zoonozdur. Doğrudan izolasyon ve kan kültürü şişelerinde bakteri üretilmesi tanı için önemlidir. Akut hastalığın ilk haftasında Brucella bakterisine karşı üretilen Ig M antikoru düzeyi yükselir. Tarama testi olarak, Rose-Bengal lam aglütinasyon testi sıklıkla kullanılmaktadır. Bruselloz tedavisinde, tetrasiklinler, rifampisin, trimetoprim-sulfametoksazol, aminoglikozidler ve bazı kinolonlar kullanılabilmektedir. Korunmada öncelikli yöntem, hayvanlarda kontrol önlemlerinin alınması ve aşılamayla bağışıklamanın sağlanmasıdır.
