Abstract

Les machines electriques synchrones qui convertissent l’energie mecanique en energie electrique (alternateurs) ou vice versa (moteurs synchrones) necessitent une alimentation en courant continu de leur inducteur ou systeme d’excitation . En outre, l’existence de ce dispositif permet, suivant les cas, de regler la tension ou la puissance reactive de la machine synchrone. Les performances obtenues doivent etre en accord avec les conditions d’exploitation de la machine, en particulier les protections de la machine synchrone elle-meme et, eventuellement, celles du reseau electrique auquel elle est reliee. Le comportement vis‐a‐vis des petites perturbations depend principalement de la presence ou de l’absence d’une machine amplificatrice intermediaire a flux variable, excitatrice a courant continu ou alternateur-excitateur, et de la conception du regulateur qui lui est associe. Le comportement vis‐a‐vis des grandes perturbations depend, lui, principalement de la source de puissance du systeme d’excitation. Une source reellement independante des perturbations subies par la machine synchrone peut etre obtenue d’un alternateur a aimants permanents monte sur la ligne d’arbre, mais cela implique l’utilisation d’une machine amplificatrice intermediaire et reste limite aux machines de plus petite puissance. Une auto-alimentation a derivation pure est la plus facile et la plus economique a realiser, mais ses performances dependent directement des perturbations subies par la machine synchrone. Enfin, de nombreuses combinaisons d’ auto-alimentation compound permettent d’obtenir un bon comportement de la machine synchrone en regime perturbe, au prix d’une conception plus complexe et egalement d’un cout plus eleve. Le dimensionnement des systemes d’excitation doit egalement prendre en compte les contraintes de tenue en tension et de tenue en courant correspondant a leurs conditions d’utilisation.
