Turismo en represas

Abstract

El turismo en represas es una estrategia efectiva para el desarrollo comunitario, utilizando recursos naturales e infraestructura existente para impulsar el crecimiento económico y social de las regiones aledañas. El estudio buscó colaborar participativamente con el desarrollo de una propuesta turística en las comunidades alrededor de la Represa Río Grande, del cantón Chone de Ecuador. Se realizó un estudio sobre los recursos turísticos disponibles, involucrando a residentes locales, academias y actores gubernamentales y no gubernamentales. El proceso se dividió en tres fases: análisis del territorio, estudio del mercado turístico y, en colaboración con diversas entidades, diseño de una propuesta turística. Durante el análisis del territorio, se identificó la belleza paisajística como un factor determinante del potencial turístico del área. Asimismo, se observó un notable interés por parte de la comunidad y organizaciones locales en participar del proyecto. Se encuestaron a 195 personas de los polos urbanos cercanos para conocer las preferencias de los potenciales visitantes de la represa. Los resultados mostraron que las actividades y facilidades más demandadas incluían la comida típica, los miradores, los senderos, y los paseos en lancha y kayak en el embalse. Los talleres participativos contribuyeron con el diseño de los productos turísticos y posibles instalaciones.
