Abstract

Simpang Brimob Yogyakarta merupakan jenis simpang 4 (empat) bersinyal dengan sistem 4 (empat) fase sinyal. Lengan utara merupakan Jalan Munggur, lengan timur merupakan Jalan Melati Wetan, lengan selatan merupakan Jalan Gondosuli, lengan barat merupakan Jalan Kompol Bambang Suprapto. Simpang Brimob Yogyakarta mempunyai potensi yang dapat menimbulkan kemacetan lalu lintas karena kondisi kapasitas eksisting simpang sudah dirasa tidak maksimal dalam menampung volume lalu lintas. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kinerja simpang bersinyal eksisting sehingga jika diketahui nilai derajat kejenuhan yang melebihi standar teknis, dapat dilakukan normalisasi simpang bersinyal. Metode analisis yang digunakan yaitu dengan pendekatan Manual Kapasitas Jalan Indonesia (MKJI, 1997) dengan 3 (tiga) periode waktu yaitu pagi, siang, dan sore. Hasil kinerja simpang bersinyal eksisting didapatkan bahwa peride pagi hari tepatnya di lengan timur nilai derajat kejenuhan sudah melebihi dari standar teknis. Dari hasil kinerja eksisting tersebut sehingga perlu dilakukan normalisasi simpang bersinyal.
