A efetividade do equilíbrio neuromuscular na dor lombar

Abstract

Objetivo: Investigar a efetividade da técnica do equilíbrio neuromuscular (ENM) na lombalgia e no ganho de movimento. Métodos: Foi realizado um estudo intervencionista em uma clínica privada de Fortaleza-Ce, no período de agosto a outubro de 2006, com 12 pacientes, com faixa etária de 20 a 55 anos de idade, sendo submetidos ao ENM duas vezes por semana. Resultados: Todos os pacientes (100%) apresentaram alívio da dor e aumento da amplitude de movimento para flexão coxo-femoral, sendo este o movimento mais doloroso para 91,66% dos casos. Todos apresentaram teste de tensão neural positivo, permanecendo positivo em 7 pacientes. Ocorreu uma melhora significativa da dor (p= 0,001) e da amplitude da articulação coxo femoral (p= 0,002) comparando o 1o com o 5o atendimento. Mesmo com a dor reduzida em todos os pacientes, 7 (58,3%) continuaram o tratamento para uma recuperação mais efetiva e prevenção de recidivas. Conclusão: O ENM alivia a dor e possibilita ganho de amplitude de movimento, sendo essencial, na reabilitação efetiva da lombalgia, a inclusão de outras técnicas fisioterápicas.
