Abstract

The experience of modernity comes being marked for ways of life mediated by consumptionstandards that seem intrinsic and irremediable. The search for the immediate and not to be satisfied are the marks in this manner of social organization. Such characteristics give the tone of the modern life and contribute for the formation of people who desire homogeneous standards of 2life and became confused in its attempt of conformation while citizens that need to adapt on the social space where they live. In this direction, this article aims to rescue some readings that allow one brief reflection concerning the characteristics in the way of living modern, in its close relationship with the consumption experiences that is on contact with them. Itintent to characterize what it was stipulated to call culture of the consumption and to identify readings that deal with its origin, attempting against for its consequences in the life of the modern man.
