Within the past two decades the corrosion problems associated with the use of operating at elevated temperatures became as important as the high temperature mechanical properties such as strength, resistance to creep, etc. The increases in gas turbine inlet temperatures, metal use temperatures, and the desirability to utilize lower costs, lower grade distillate, crude and residual type fuels contributed to the corrosion problem.
