<p>Ubatuba es una de las ciudades costeras más importantes de São Paulo. El solar, de 55 x 16 metros, limita con el mar en un lado y sube por una colina de pendiente pronunciada, únicamente alcanzando el nivel de la calle a los 28 metros. La colina está cubierta de árboles. El objetivo de preservar los árboles y la topografía inspiró toda la estrategia empleada para la concepción del proyecto: no tocar el terreno aparte de lo estrictamente necesario. Tres columnas de hormigón armado soportan la casa. Y se corresponden con los únicos puntos en los que el edificio toca el terreno.</p>
